A private residence with an atelier on an inclined lot on the island of Antiparos. The volumes forming the residence are placed in line, following the strong ground inclination. In accordance to the closed spaces there is a series of triangle shaped perforated pergolas thus creating the perception of a solid, terraced volume, gradually sinking into the ground. The end of this volume hosts two subterranean guest houses. In this manner, the visible intervention on the natural landscape is minimized, while at the same time the view to the sea is unobstructed. The pool lays on the southern part of the residence and functions as a visual border towards the sea. The main volume of the atelier space remains unseen by being sunken into the ground, but light and functional through the use of skylights.
